At 28 years old, Laura Burrows has completely transformed her life, shedding four stone 9lb with the support of Slimming World, a positive mindset, and a newfound love of fitness.

What began as a personal goal to feel healthier and more confident has turned into an inspiring journey of empowerment and balance.

Laura joined Slimming World after realizing she wanted to make a sustainable change and not a quick fix. “I’d tried diets before, but nothing stuck,” she says. “Slimming World helped me understand food in a whole new way. I never felt deprived it’s about balance, not restriction.”

Over the months, Laura embraced the group’s Food Optimising plan, learning how to enjoy her favourite meals in smarter, more satisfying ways. But it was the group support and weekly accountability that really helped her stay motivated. “The community was everything. Everyone celebrates your wins, big or small, and that encouragement makes such a difference.”

As the pounds dropped, Laura found herself with more energy and a growing desire to move more. She began working with a personal trainer, focusing on strength and confidence-building exercises. Alongside this, she added HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) classes into her weekly routine. “At first, I was nervous stepping into a gym,” Laura admits. “But now I absolutely love it. Exercise isn’t punishment anymore it’s something I do because it makes me feel strong.”

Today, Laura feels healthier, fitter, and more confident than ever. “It’s not just about the number on the scales,” she says with a smile. “It’s about how I feel more energetic, more in control, and proud of how far I’ve come.”

Her journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support, determination, and a bit of self-belief, real transformation is possible.

“If I can do it, anyone can,” Laura says. “Take that first step. You might just surprise yourself.”
