Annual family memorial service at Heckington church

Taking place on Sunday November 6 at 6pm, it is an opportunity for people to come together to remember family members and friends who have died.

There is the opportunity to light a candle in their memory, the candles combining to create a cross in the darkness of the church.

The names of loved ones are read out, there is time for reflection and remembrance with music from the choir and a selection of well known hymns and thought provoking readings and poems.

Andrew Key from the church said: “This simple, peaceful service has become one of the most well attended of the year. Everyone is welcome to go along and to add names of their loved ones to the list on the night – wherever and whenever their funeral took place.”
