Friday, 8, evening - fun run on the riverbank. Open to over eight-years and no upper age limit. Children £1, adults £2. Register in advance if you can, tel: 613998, call at 1 Southlands Drive, email [email protected], or 6pm on the night in the village hall. Race starts promptly at 7pm. Followed by karaoke and disco in the Crooked Billet pub.

Saturday, 9, 9.30am, primary schools football and tug o’ war on the community playing field. Refreshments available. 11am to 1pm summer fair with all the usual fun and games, tombola, plant stall, cakes, barbecue etc. Held on the school playground. 6pm - barbecue at the Ship Inn, all welcome.

Sunday, 10, 9.30am, family church service in St Paul’s Church. All welcome. 11am - junior cricket followed by seniors, until close of play.

The Feast weekend of activities is a collaboration between the community, school and church. There are nearly 30 entries for the scarecrow competition. They will be displayed in front gardens from the end of June to Sunday, July 17.

If you would like to see all the scarecrows please collect a trail map from 1 Southlands Drive from July 1, or collect one from the stall at the summer fair. The winners will be announced at the end of the morning’s festivities.
