Louth man charged with attempting sexual communication with underage teens

Christopher Charles Clarke, 39, of Eastgate, faces the following four charges, which all relate to alleged offences committed in the period between November 14, 2018, and January 1, 2019:

• For the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally attempted to communicate with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl who he did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being intended to encourage her to make a communication that was sexual.

• Intentionally attempted to cause or incite a 14-year-old girl, not reasonably believing she was aged 16 or over, to engage in sexual activity of a non-penetrative nature.

• Intentionally attempted to cause or incite the sexual exploitation of a girl aged 14 years, and whom he did not reasonably believe was aged 18 or over, in any part of the world by asking her to send him sexual images of herself.

• For the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally attempted to cause a girl aged 14 years whom he did not reasonably believe was aged 16 or over, to look at an image of his private parts and a video of him engaging in a sexual activity.

The case was brought to Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on July 1, and it has been adjourned to July 8 for allocation.
