Ashley Kyle Henson of Trafalgar Avenue, who was said to be on a suspended prison sentence, also for assault, but after this incident, admitted assaulting the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.

Prosecuting, Kwok Wan said Henson attacked the boy at a wedding reception in a private function room at the New Park Club in Skegness on September 21 last year.

He said the boy received two or three punches and had to be taken to hospital after he was sick. The boy did not have any fractures but his shirt was covered with blood.

Mr Wan said Henson had a conviction for violence in 2015 and was currently subject to a suspended prison sentence imposed in June 2020, also for violence.

Mitigating, Saleem Khan admitted it had been a 'nasty and uncalled for assault'

“The defendant knows what he did and he is ashamed and full of remorse,” he said.

He said that if Henson had been dealt with for this offence when he was dealt with in June on the other matter, he would have received a similar sentence.

He said Henson had a 'problem with controlling his anger and his emotions' but was getting professional help.

The magistrates said it had been an 'unprovoked' attack on a minor at a private function in which he had no part.

He was given a six week prison sentence suspended for a year and ordered to carry out 15 rehabilitation days.

He was ordered to pay £150 compensation to his victim and £213 in court costs and charges.
