Cathy Stones, of Tinkle Street, has not yet told her daughter Sienna, four, that her quad bike is missing - but added that ‘she loves it more than anything’ and she will be ‘devastated’ when she finds out.

The Suzuki LT50 Petrol Quad was stolen from a padlocked shed at the family’s home over the weekend of March 5-6.

The quad had not been used between Saturday and Monday, as Sienna was suffering chicken pox.

Cathy told the Leader: “We haven’t told her it’s gone yet, but she will be devastated.

“Sienna has had the quad bike since she was three and decorated it herself with her own stickers, flowers, and a squeaky horn.

“She loved riding on it at the beach and waving to people as she went past, and giving rides to her friends.

“Last winter when it snowed, she was towing us round on a sledge. She usually goes on it at the weekends in winter, and more in the summer.”

Cathy added: “We would be more than happy for the quad to mysteriously appear back home, no questions asked.

“I really don’t want to have to make my poorly baby cry after she’s done her best to make us so proud all weekend.”
