Everyone hooked on free fishing in Alford

Families from across East Lindsay had a go at fishing this week thanks to Burgh Angling Society's Lets Go Family Fishing event.

Despite the threat of rain, parents and children enjoyed a beautiful evening at the club’s fishery on the outskirts of Alford.

Using the simple equipment that is provided by the club, there were lots of fish caught, including a 2lb eel.

Last week’s event is part of a series of free events giving anyone the chance to come along and have a go at fishing.

The next event is due to take place on Sunday, July 17 from 5-9pm.

It all takes place at the club’s lake, which is situated in Brickyard Lane, Farlesthorpe.
