The money, awarded by WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund, will be used to buy new play equipment at Brant Broughton Playing Fields.

The playground will also be partly funded The Big Lottery and The Community Facilities Grant Aid from Lincolnshire County Council.

Members of the Brant Broughton Playing Field Association believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives for people living in the area.

Members of the association said: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Brant Broughton. It’s fantastic that WREN has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our playground taking shape over the next year.”

WREN is a not-for- profit business that awards grants for community, conservation and heritage projects from funds donated by waste and resource management company FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund.

Cheryl Raynor, WREN’s grant manager for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Brant Broughton Playground Redevelopment project and pleased that our funding will provide such a fantastic facility for young people in the area. WREN is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that make a difference to local communities and we’re really looking forward to seeing this one take shape soon.”

Brant Broughton Playing Field Association hopes the new play ground will be ready to use by Autumn 2016. The group continues to organise fund-raising events throughout the year – visit www.facebook.com/bbplayingfield for updates.
