'˜Masterpiece' is set for Louth Film Club

Michael Caine plays Fred Ballinger, an ageing orchestral conductor, in Paolo Sorrentino's '˜ravishing masterpiece' Youth.
What's On.What's On.
What's On.

It is set to be shown at Louth Film Club on Monday, July 4.

With Harvey Keitel as an ageing film director, Mick Boyle, the two look back on their lives and successes – and wonder what is left for them in old age.

Jane Fonda also appears as an ageing actress who tells Mick in no uncertain terms that he is washed up and she is quitting his movie to star in a television show in Latin America (‘Television is the future – it’s also the present.’).

Paul Hill, chair of LFC said: “This rich, Felliniesque masterpiece, full of visual metaphor and angst, is both intellectually engaging and stunning to the eye.”

The film starts from 7.30pm at Louth Playhouse Cinema in Cannon Street.

The film is certified 15.
