Misterton: Church appeal for funds for a war memorial plaque

An appeal has been launched to fund a memorial plaque, listing the names of Misterton men and women who fell in the First World War. It will be sited next to the memorial window in All Saints’ Church, Misterton.

The plaque will bear the names of the 22 men and women listed on the village war memorial. Pictured is the memorial window which shows St Oswald (the ‘saintly king’ of Northumbria), St Stephen (the first Christian martyr), and St Alban (the first British Christian martyr) which cost £155 including labour and this appeal seeks to raise 10 times that amount. Anyone wishing to make donations to the plaque appeal should contact the Vicar, Churchwardens, or the Parish Church’s treasurer.
