Music for Woodhall Society shows appreciation for Daphne

At the start of the July Music for Woodhall concert, chairman Philip Groves presented Daphne Bloom, who is retiring as treasurer and committee member, with a bouquet of flowers in appreciation of her 12 years of service. Mr Groves reminded the Society what a debt of gratitude was owed to her.

He said: “Six years ago, following the sad loss of Geoff Faulkner, the previous chairman, she kept the Society together by compering the concerts, booking future artists and persuading the present Chairman and Secretary to join the committee.

“If this had not happened the Society would have closed.”

Guest artist for the evening was Ryan Edwards, who provided a wonderful evening of music.
