Caistor Lions annual bonfire put out by the ongoing coronavirus restrictions

One of the highlights in the Caistor calendar is the annual bonfire event, which is organised by the Caistor Lions.

It is more than a bonfire, it is a full evening of entertainment for all ages to enjoy, which sees thousands of people flock to the town’s South Street Park.

But there will be no event there this year.

A spokesman for the Lions group said: “We are sorry, but due to Covid, we have had to cancel this year’s bonfire and firework display.”

However, all is not lost.

The spokesman continued: “We are working on a way to bring fireworks to people’s homes, so watch this space!”
