Lincolnshire menthol lozenge brand makes 'emergency' dispatch to Harry Kane after England captain loses voice in post-match singalong

A Boston menthol lozenge brand is coming to the aid of England captain Harry Kane, making an ‘emergency’ dispatch across the Atlantic after hearing him lose his voice in post-match celebrations on Monday (July 6).

Jakemans has made the soothing show of support in light of what has been described as ‘one of the best post-match interviews ever’.

The footage shows Kane struggling to answer the questions, having strained his voice in a singalong that followed England’s dramatic 3-2 win over Mexico.

A spokesman said: “Harry Kane may have sung his heart out after England's now-iconic Wonderwall celebrations, but his voice seems to have paid the price.

“As the UK's No.1 menthol lozenge brand, Jakemans couldn’t stand by, so we’ve dispatched an emergency lozenge delivery across the pond ahead of Saturday's game. Because England needs its captain’s voice as much as it needs his goals!”

Alongside this gesture, Jakesmans released research about the nation's favourite singalong songs and why these moments do more than celebrate a win.

While classics like Sweet Caroline remain firm favourites, this tournament has seen Oasis’ Wonderwall emerge as the soundtrack to England's victories, it said.

The research found that 80 per cent of Brits say singing boosts their mood, while 57 per cent say group singing creates a sense of camaraderie.

However, there is a downside: six in 10 have strained their voice after singing, with many forced to stop altogether, it said.

Commenting on the findings, Elizabeth Hughes-Gapper, Jakemans brand manager, said: “This research shows how much we as a nation love singing out loud, and the positive impact that it has on our well-being. But, don’t let anything hold back your voice. Making sure you have a packet of Jakemans on you will ensure your voice can remain soothed at anytime, anywhere.”
