Lincolnshire Police honour valuable volunteers as part of national campaign

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “Throughout the week we will be saying a big thank you to Specials, Police Support Volunteers, Volunteer PCSOs and Police Cadets across the county for all their time and dedication throughout the year.

“Their dedication to the police family, to their communities, to making a difference, is second to none.

“Although the current Covid-19 pandemic has kept many of our volunteers at home, in the last 12 months they have committed over 70,000 hours of their own time to the force in a variety of roles.

“And we can’t thank them enough - but we’re going to try.

“So to every single one of our volunteers we would simply like to say a huge THANK YOU. You really do make a difference.”

ACC Kerrin Wilson said: “We wouldn’t be able to deliver the brilliant service that we do to our communities without all our volunteers.

“Some of our Special Constables have been working incredibly hard during this furlough period through Covid-19 and they’re still coming out and delivering fantastic service, catching criminals and putting people away behind bars.”

PCC Marc Jones added: “The range of roles that are undertaken by volunteers are quite incredible.

“National Volunteers’ Week gives us a huge opportunity to show our appreciation and gratitude to all those that support Lincolnshire Police throughout the whole year.

“Without your help and support, we simply couldn’t deliver the service to the public that we need to do.”
