Our reporter Leanne Crawford has spent the opening morning at Lincolnshire Showground getting a flavour of this year’s event.

Thousands of people are here on a warm and bright morning at The Lincolnshire Show, the rain so far has held off.

Wragby School are back to defend their 2012 title in the School’s Challenge Arena, where pupils from across the county have gathered.

Lincolnshire’s very own celebrity chef Rachel Green has given a cookery demonstration to a packed marquee and the showground has become the focal point for businesses from near and far today.

I’ve already seen Tom Woods Beers from Melton Ross, Uncle Henry’s Farm Shop from Grayingham and Mountain’s Boston Sausage, which is proving popular.

Awards have also been presented to long serving farmers, with one Lincolnshire man receiving recognition for serving 65 years in the agricultural industry.
