Police investigate fatal collision in Withern

Lincolnshire Police are investigating a single-vehicle collision in Withern, between Louth and Alford, which resulted in an elderly man’s death.

This morning, a police spokesman said: “We are investigating a collision which occurred on the 22nd December at just before midday on Main Road, Withern (near Alford).

“The collision involved a single vehicle, a Renault Modus, which collided with a tree.

“Two passengers, a man and a woman, were seriously injured and taken to hospital.

“Sadly we have since been informed that the elderly gentleman had died.

“We are appealing for witnesses to contact us, along with anyone who may have captured relevant footage on their dash cam.

“If you can help, please contact us with incident reference number 149 of 22 December.”
