Plans to roll-out as many as seven new CCTV cameras are on hold - until East Lindsey District Council approves the suggested locations.

The council has identified several ‘Anti Social Behaviour’ hot-spots for a camera including the Sports Pavilion car park off Coronation Walk, North Street and Tesco car park.

Clerk Amanda Bushell told this month’s town council meeting that she was waiting to hear back from ELDC about the suitability of the locations.

She explained: “East Lindsey are responsible for managing the CCTV system and I have contacted them (about the locations) and they said they would speak to the contractors. We can ask for an update on how they are progressing.”

Mayor Fiona Martin said some of the proposed sites would require permission because buildings were either listed or in a conservation area.

She added: “There will be a lot of work to do before we get consent.”
