Greylees Convenience Store, in Grantham Road, has secured a place in the list, unveiled last week by the Independent Achievers Academy (IAA).

Selection of the top 100 follows a rigorous mystery shopping programme across the UK using the IAA benchmarks that measure – in its words – “the simple things that retailers can do to provide excellent service to shoppers”.

Danny Hunt, manager of Greylees Convenience Store, which launched in October, 2013 and forms part of Europe Car Services, described the inclusion as “fantastic news”. As to what sets the shop apart from others, he spoke of recent investment, and also of the quality of the staff.

“We are very lucky to have them,” he said.
