A spokesman said: “In light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, and after significant consideration, the Woodhall Spa 1940s Festival Committee has taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Woodhall Spa 1940’s Festival, due to take place on July 18 and 19.

“This decision was not taken lightly, but it is the right decision.

“The Festival Committee recognised it would be now impossible to make all the necessary arrangements needed to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival between now and July.

“They also recognised that no one knew with any certainty what the situation would be in July and therefore they had a clear moral obligation to cancel the festival now to help protect the health and welfare of all those involved in the festival, including of course the residents of Woodhall Spa.

“In making their decision the committee were also conscious of the need to provide our local hoteliers and campsites with as much time as possible to re-arrange bookings etc.

“The committee appreciates that this will be very disappointing news for many, but on a more positive note they also wanted to say that they are fully committed to ensuring the festival returns better than ever in 2021; and everyone is invited to save July 17 and 18, 2021, in their diaries.

“In the meantime, the Woodhall Spa 1940’s Festival Committee will be turning their attention to helping local Covid-19 support groups in any way they can.

“Finally, the committee would like to send their best wishes and good luck to everyone over the next few challenging months.
