Council launches recruitment event for new food waste scheme
West Lindsey District Council is holding a special recruitment event for its new food waste collection service launching in 2026.
At least 17 new jobs are up for grabs including positions for General Labourers and Drivers (Class 1).
The event will take place on Saturday, November 29 at the West Lindsey Depot based at Caenby Corner, near Market Rasen, LN8 2AR, between 10am - 2pm.
There will be four sessions available on the day and you can attend whichever one that best suits your schedule: 10am, 11am, 12pm or 1pm.

Enjoy some light refreshments, meet the friendly staff, and learn more about the opportunities available.
Coun Emma Bailey, chair of the Prosperous Communities Committee at the council said: “Our new food waste collection service is a major step forward in delivering on West Lindsey District Council’s environmental commitments. The introduction follows central government changes set out in the Environment Act 2021, which requires all local councils who collect your waste from the kerbside, to collect food waste separately on a weekly basis.
"We are investing in our people and our future, and we are keen to welcome new team members who can add value to our service”.
Alan Bowley, Director of Operational and Commercial Services at the council, said: “We are looking for people who take pride in their work, enjoy being part of a team, and want to make a positive contribution to their local
community.
“This event is a great chance to come and have an informal chat with us in person and find out more about the jobs we have available. We will be happy to answer any of your questions and give you a guided tour around our purpose-built central depot.”

If you are successful you can look forward to:
