More than 160 services are under threat - including many in the Horncastle News area - as the County Counciol looks to save millions of pounds.
The petition was handed in following a week of intense campaigning from the Lincolnshire Labour Party - who also set up a ‘Save Our Buses’ Facebook group - and signatures on an online petition started by Lincoln man David Rimmington.
A final decision on the proposed cuts will be taken at the county council’s budget meeting on February 19.
Horncastle county councillor Bill Aron (Independent) said he will fight to retain as many local services as possible. His Coningsby counterpart, Colin Mair (UKIP), says opinion is split on the cuts.
He said some residents had told him several buses only carried ‘a very small number of passengers’ and would not be a great loss, while others had said they would lose ‘a vital link.’ Coun Mair warned some school services were in danger.
