Pupils from Wroot Travis Charity C of E Primary School held their own service at St Pancras’ Church, as a special Mothers’ Day tribute.

Five young musicians took their brass instruments to accompany the singing, and there was one violin player.

Mother-related poems and hymns were said and sung, and deserving mums were presented with scrolls and posies put together that same day by junior children.

Headteacher Christine Cook said: “It all went well and was a very emotional time for the mums. The church was packed with standing room only.”

The entire school was involved in the exercise, and the Rev Ian Walker was there to enjoy his day of rest. Tony Saxton caught it all on camera.
