Vacancies for retained firefighters in village

Misterton Fire Station currently has vacancies for up to six new recruits.

Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service is spending the next two weeks looking for candidates to fill these posts.

Retained firefighters are on call and respond to the station in the event of an emergency. They are trained in firefighting, water rescue, first aid, and a range of other skills that ensure they can respond to all manner of emergency situations.

A spokesman said: “Being a member of the fire service can be challenging, exciting, and an excellent way of serving your local community. Retained firefighters have to be over 18 years of age and be able to respond to Misterton Fire Station within 5 minutes of being paged.”
