Alternatively, people can become a Friend of the Heritage Centre and so contribute to its success.

A small monthly donation would help the centre to survive and grow.

The centre is now run by the Heritage Trust and not North Lincolnshire Council, something volunteer Jacqui Brock was keen to stress when she carried out a consultation in the market place bandstand recently.

Children’s activities are scheduled to run through the summer holidays, with an Aviation Nose Art competition already underway and running until September 3.

Details are available in the craft room.

Alternatively, for more substantial activities, the Summer Day programmes are from 10am to 3pm for children 7 to 11 years old and cost £25 per child.

Advance booking is essential either at the Heritage Centre or at Brigg Tourist Information Centre.

Wednesday August 17 is Flower Fairies day, when children will dress up and learn more about the world of fairies during the Victorian era.

For adults and children, basic felting workshops are being held on Thursday 11 August and Friday 12 August, a chance to learn needle felting and wet felting.

The centre supplies materials and the cost is £8, with booking again essential.
