Young Carers award for Cordeaux Academy
Cordeaux Academy has been presented with a bronze award for their work in supporting young carers at the school, and ensuring that they don't miss out on receiving on education.
Vice Principal, Frances Green, told the Leader: “Working towards the Young Carers’ Award has ensured that the profile of young carers in Cordeaux Academy is raised, and recognises the invaluable and essential contribution they make in their families, and the work that the academy does to support these young people.”
Mrs Green added that working towards the award was a ‘positive experience’.
One of the young carers added that the school’s support had made them feel ‘more confident’ in general.
