Cordeaux Acadmey athletes set new records

Heavy overnight rain did cause a few issues on the track with two lanes out of the eight closed by huge puddles, but the PE department struggled through.

The Year 9 1500m school record fell to Hannah Reid, while a new best time was set in the boys’ 4x100m relay.

And Luke Johnson made it a hat-trick of new records in the Year 10 shot put.

A new event this year was a staff relay race with mixed teams of staff taking on sixth formers and Year 10 who were victorious.

The academy thanked all of the pupils and staff, and in particular event organisers Mr Giles and Mrs McBurnie.
