Hosts Emley beat the All Stars in game two, leaving Horncastle needing a win in the third game to avoid the wooden spoon.

Due to time restrictions, the final game was reduced to a 10 over smash. Horncastle batted first and scored a massive 112 from their 10. Lewis Lovegrove hit an unbeaten 50 which included some hefty blows.

Emley could only manage 75 in reply thanks to some excellent bowling and fielding from Jack Tate. The win from Horncastle meant a three way tie for the trophy.

Talking of trophies, the Horncastle Midweek 8s kicks off tonight with Horncastle Town Football Club taking on the Horncastle Cricket Academy. The action starts at 6pm at Horncastle CC’s Coronation Walk ground. The bar will be open and the barbecue will be sizzling.
