Skipper Luke Shiels can't wait to walk out of the Jakemans Community Stadium tunnel and hear the roar of fans.

The Pilgrims are yet to play in front of supporters at their new home due to Covid regulations.

But after signing a new deal with the club, Shiels hopes all that will change when the season gets underway in August.

With June 21 put forward as the date the Government end all coronavirus regulations, Boston could play pre-season and next term in front of fans.

"It was nice to play there last season for a few games, but with the fans there it'll be fantastic," said Shiels, who is targeting promotion.

"I can't wait to do that.

"The only downside is when clubs come and play you it's like a cup final for them and they do give that little bit more.

"But I think we'll have more than enough for anyone at home."

Boston moved into their new home in December after kicking off last season at Gainsborough's Northolme.
