'We didn’t do what we had to do' - Sleaford Town boss reacts to defeat to Pinchbeck United
Sleaford Town boss Matt Evans felt his side paid the price for poor finishing during their 3-0 defeat at home to Pinchbeck United.
The Greens trailed 2-0 at half-time after a poor first half display before seeing a number of chances go begging during an improved second half.

But frustrated Evans admitted Town had left themselves too much to do.
“We played some good stuff in the second half, but it was an uphill battle because we weren't good enough in the first half,” he said.
““We didn't defend properly in the first half from front to back. The performance wasn't good enough in the first half and we got what we deserved, we lost.
“We had good chances in the second half. There were three or four moments where we could have scored, or at least got shots away.
“If we score those half chances at key moments and get a first and second we could have gone on and won it because the confidence would have been there.
“Missing those left us desperate. We didn't keep our cool in the box and finish. We just didn't do what we needed to do in the six yard box.
“3-0 is a more damning defeat than it actually was. It is a competitive league. There are not a lot of points between teams in the midtable area and anyone can beat anyone.
“It is an exciting league for that reason because results can go either way. The strength in depth coming off the bench has been good but it doesn't really mean anything if you don't get the points.”
Sleaford face a tough trip to Retford United at the weekend with Evans keen to show how Town have progressed.
“There are a few things we learned from last time and hopefully we can do better this time to show our progress,” he added.
“Every month we have a couple of really hard games and a couple we fancy our chances in.
“If we can win six points a month that's probably about right for where we are at the moment.”
