Aaron Silvester completed his season in the shortened 2020 Pirelli National Superstock 600 championship with a 15th and 17th place in the final two races of the season at Brands Hatch.

Qualifying didn't go quite to plan for the Tattershall based rider as he ended the session in 22nd place for an eighth row start to the first race.

But as the race got underway on Saturday Silvester got a good start and moved through to 15th place at half distance entering into a battle for position within a large group of riders.

He briefly held 14th place but was beaten back to 15th which he held to the flag to pick up a championship point.

“I am happy to finish 15th after starting from 22nd on the grid," he said.

"Despite my starting position, this proved to be one of the most enjoyable races this year.

"I had some great battles chasing the pack, then once I found clear track I managed to set a new personal best lap time, fast enough to put me 12th on the grid for the final race.”

But as the last race of the current campaign got underway on Sunday morning it didn’t work out for Silvester and he completed the 12-lap affair in 17th position.

He added: “Despite a frustrating mistake that dropped me from 13th to 19th in the early laps, I am pleased to finish the season with another new personal best lap time.

"Although I enjoyed the race, unfortunately the issue halted my progress later in the race.

"I just want to say thank you to the BSB team, all marshals and medics for allowing us to go racing, making the most of a very difficult year! A massive thank you to my team, A&J Racing, my family, my girlfriend Kirbi and my sponsors for sticking by me through the highs and lows of 2020.

"I am already looking forward to what 2021 will bring.”
