501 feel the full force of rivals Dartvaders

Second-place Dartvaders were away at third-place 501s in the Web Signs Division One on Friday.

Chris Simpson (4x100, 135, 2x 140 and 2x19 dart legs) and Spencer Davis (5x100 and a 17 darter) got the 501s off to a perfect start as they both won to give them a 2-0 lead.

The Vaders woke up, winning the remaining three singles and the doubles and trebles to lead 5-2 with the final set of singles to go.

The Vaders were in no mood to relinquish their lead as they won the first three before Scott Sutton (5x100, 2x125, 2x140, 180, 94 finish and a 15 darter) and Gordon Smith (5x100, 121, 137, 2x140 and a cracking 14 dart leg) pulled the last two back to make it a bit more respectable.

But the Vader’s were comfortable 8-4 winners and had some great scoring from Braydon Wyeth (6x100, 122), Dave Brewin (100, 140), Phil Johnson-Hale (3x100, 2x121, and an 18 dart leg) and Scott Smith (3x100, 129, 5x140, 180 and legs in 19 and 20 darts).

Joby Booth (100, 115, 2x123, 125, 129, 134, 136, 180 and legs in 16, 18, 18) and captain Wayne Clarke (5x100, 2x125 and a 19 darter) also did the business.

Leaders Rowdy Mob had a tricky game against Seaview Next Tuesday, and Kristian Thein (120, 121, 2x140) gave the Seaview the first singles.

But they had to wait for Kristian (100, 128, 140) in the last singles for the next point as the Mob ran riot, ending up 10-2 winners.

Good scoring came from Martin Bell (7x100, 118, 130, 6x140, 180, 15 and 17 dart legs), Mark Forman (2x100, 125, 140, 2x180), David Tuplin (4x100, 116, 120), Shaun Drury (6x100) and Lee Yates (2x100, 121, 123, 125, 132, 133), George Stocks (100, 119, 125, 127, 4x140) and Kev Barker (5x100, 119, 125).

Liberal Lads beat Ex Service Sports 7-5.

Mark Carter (5x100), Terry Cox (100, 2x134, 135), Gordon Mcquillan (4x100, 125, 2x140, 121 finish), Rick Seaman (3x100, 140) and Rob Pomeroy (2x100, 125) did well for the Lads.

Sports had Gary Garton (3x100, 125, 140, Bradley Martin (2x100, 125, 135, 140, 180),Darren Taylor (2x100, 140), Graham Fitton (125, 139, 140), Graham Froud (2x100) and Peter Evans (7x100, 121, 122, 123, 2 x 125, 140 and 2x180) throwing well.

In the Piper Window Systems Ltd Division Two, leaders New Park Poachers were away to Cricket Club, the leaders winning 7-5.

There was some healthy scoring on both sides, with Poachers’ Adam Clarke (2x100, 140), Rui Mason (111,112, 114 , 121 140) and Glyn Pope (3x100, 140) and Cricket Club’s Paul Lucas (3x100), Adam Ford (2x100, 121), Jay Elson (101, 116) and Richard Fuller(4x100, 125) throwing well.

Gunslingers found themselves 3-2 up at the Red Arrows, Kyle Davis (100, 121), S.E. Butler (2x100, 114, 2x140) and Mark Williams their singles winners. Doubles and trebles were shared, meaning they had a 4-3 lead with five singles to play.

Winning the first four was enough for them to secure the win despite Mark Simpson (7x100, 140, 104 finish) doing well in the last one for the Arrows.

Gunslingers also had Darren Butler (4x100,125), and S.H. Butler (2x100, 3x140) doing well with Red Arrows’ Richard Jackson (5x100, 140), Stuart Hodson (2x100), Paul Tuplin (2x100, 140) and Nick Casswell (4x100, 125, 137, 140) impressing.

The in-house derby at the Ex Service saw the Cobras take on the Spitfires, Cobras winning 8-4.

High scores for the Cobras came from Roy Parnham (123, 3x133), Ray Bettison (133, 135), Stuart Corsen (100, 121, 140), Ian Chamberlain (100, 136, 139) and Darrell Webb (6x100, 121, 140) while Spitfires had Martin Boss (3x100, 125, 140), Lee Woods (100, 121 125, 140), Liam Simms (4x100, 2x120), Dave Middleton (2x100, 120, 122) and Ian Dunn (2x100, 133, 140 and a 16 dart leg) doing well.

In the New Park Club Skegness Division Three, the top-of-the-table clash at the Liberal Club saw leaders Livewires take on third-place Liberal Us.

The Livewires took command early on taking, a 4-1 lead after the singles, helped along with some big scoring from Tom Thornton (100, 120, 135, 140), Ken Wilson (2x100, 118, 135, 140) and Ian Bowker (2x100, 101).

Sharing the doubles, and the trebles , left the leaders 5-2 up with the last set of singles to play, winning two of the last three they ended up 7-5 victors.

Hayley Reeson (4x100, 3x140) and Chris Troth (3x100) were on target for Liberal Us.

Vine Allstars and Seaview Raiders met at the Vine, Seaview wining 10-2.

Sean Bates (100, 2x140), Kieran Steven Emsen (100, 134) and Rob O’Brien (3x140) did well while Vine had N. Bradley (140, 180), M. Spence (2x140) and Nathan Hopkins (11, 125, 140) throwing well.

Welcome Hillbillies took an early 4-1 lead against Liberal Amigos to put them well and truly in command, this despite the best efforts of Gareth Jowett (100, 131) and David Reding (2x100, 104).

Winning both the doubles and trebles, the Amigos had hope as they pulled it back to 4-3. And they won all the final five singles to record an amazing 8-4 win.

Mick Seager (2x100, 140) was a big help.

On Friday the league singles and doubles event will be hel at the SeaviewPub Skegness.

Registration will start at 8pm for an 8.30pm start.
