Over the past five years, the Leg-Up Club’s annual bursary has helped a number of young sportspeople from the area take big leaps towards achieving their dreams.

And once again they want to hear from budding talents who believe they can fulfil their potential with the aid of some financial backing.

The Leg-Up Club come from a mixture of different sporting backgrounds and they are open-minded as to which sport they are looking to support.

Previous recipients have included swimmer Connor Boyfield, kickboxer Nesta Baxter, karate kid Adriana Pieseneice (pictured), boxer Angelica Finch, biathlete Will Swain, archer Amy Gott, gymnast Vienna-Mae Ford, golfer Archie Qualtrough and clay pigeon shooter Marcus Horry. Each of whom have received fundings towards necessary sports equipment or costs.

The group have teamed up with The Standard, and are appealing for anyone interested to get in contact.

To put yourself forward, or to nominate a sporting talent, email [email protected], outlining details about the individual, their sporting discipline, age, and what the money would be put towards. The closing date for entries will be on January 12, at midnight.
