Ruth wins first ladies' section medal of the season at Boston Golf Club

The first Ladies' Section Medal round of the season took place at Boston Golf Club last week.

And after only playing 10 holes over the winter months, 18 holes in very wintery conditions took its toll for some.

However, Ruth Simpson showed no such signs as she was the overall winner with a score of 87-09=78. In second place was Fran Grant with 99-17=82, while Jean Markham was third with 98-16=82.

Fran Grant won the twos competition on the 14th hole.
