Victories for Boston Tennis Club senior teams

Boston Tennis Club senior teams were once again busy at the weekend, fulfilling fixtures in the Dunlop Lindum Lincolnshire Winter Seniors League.

All of the Boston Tennis Club men’s teams had matches with three out of four wins for the teams.

Boston Ladies’ Seconds had their first win of their season in Division One.

Boston Men – Ray Frankish, Jeremy George-Jones, James Newton and John Gibson - had a comfortable win away at Rustons in Division One of the League.

Boston Men’s Seconds – Anthony Hulley, Gary Fitzjohn, Larry Churchward and Robert Bonser - felt the might of Grimsby in a home match.

It was a loss for the Boston but the team put up resistance and played some good tennis.

Both Boston Thirds and Fourths in Division Two of the league, played Scotter on the same day.

This resulted in a win for Boston Thirds’ Chris Cook, John Gibson, David Makins and Andy Clamp and a win for Richard Cozens, Robert Bonser, Terry Mastin and Jeremy George-Jones, representing the Fourths.

There was plenty of respect for Scotter for playing two matches in one day.

Boston Ladies’ Seconds, in Division One, had a good 5-3 win against Woodhall Spa.

The team was Catherine Ellis, Helen Duckett, Sharron Thorogood and Lesley Gibbons.

The mini red teams competed in the Dunlop Lindum Lincolnshire Mini Indoor Winter League play-offs.

Boston A finished fourth overall with the team this weekend being Alayna Buswell, Olivia Hilton, Charlie Cook and Keita Cica.

The A team has fielded a number of players over the weeks but a particular mention for Lewis Patchett, who has played in all of the other matches, and Noah Holden.

Boston B finished in eighth place overall and again have been well supported by other players over the season, but on the day the team had Alex Underhill, Tomek Thornley, Reuben Smith and Natasha Dodes in action.

Louis Clark who played in all of the other B team matches during the season and also played up for the A team.
