DJ mum hosts lockdown livestream party

Ravin Rach , who is Rachel Mitchell to her three children, loves to DJ with vinyl at night, but normally only performs for family and friends and birthdays.

However, since lockdown she has been doing live DJ sets online for everybody to watch on Fridays from 8pm.

"My Facebook live stream reached 4.7K viewers from as far away as America. The feedback I had was overwhelming, I’ve been played on people TV’s and even screenshots have been sent back to me in messages.

"Some people sent me pictures of their dogs watching me too.

"Before I’ve hosted my friend's 40th birthday and was mainly aimed at my friends.

"This week and ongoing I would like to share my set with further afield.

"I play trance, dance and all the classic tunes from 2000’s."

Her music is especially enjoyed by her 17-year-old son who is autistic.

"I use LED lights on my set which other children like Tyler might find quite sensory.," she said.

"Day-to-day I’m a busy mum especially with the school’s being closed, but I have passion for everything I do.

"Normally on weekends I do a street dancing and breakdancing class in Doncaster with my youngest son. We perform in shows and I feel dancing is an escape from day-to-day life which can be challenging.

"When not in lockdown I work in a pub and I always asked to put my tunes on the jukebox.

"My bar name is Raquel, but when I DJ at home I’m known as Ravin Rach.

"I’ve just finished at college as a dog groomer and have now qualified. People have asked if I could style their dog and teach their dog to dance."
