Courteeners is the second announcement of the day for Live at Lincoln Castle following this morning’s reveal from Robert Plant with Saving Grace and Suzi Dian.

Since releasing their debut album St. Jude in 2008, Courteeners have quietly and confidently established themselves as one of the biggest bands in Britain. Across a remarkable career spanning almost two decades, the Manchester indie rockers have released seven studio albums and produced fan-favourite tracks including Not Nineteen Forever, Are You In Love With A Notion?, Bide Your Time, Cavorting, No You Didn’t, No You Don’t and Modern Love.
The band have enjoyed consistent commercial success, selling more than one million albums in the UK, with each of their last five albums reaching the Top 5. In 2023, St Jude completed an extraordinary journey to the top of the charts, reaching Number One 15 years after its original release.
Courteeners are adored by their fans, having cultivated a huge and loyal following nationwide with a stellar reputation for their epic live shows. Their gigs are massive celebrations where songs become a communal experience between band and fans, with their choruses unifying tens of thousands of people. Their headline show at Lincoln Castle promises to capture that special atmosphere in the spectacular surroundings of the historic outdoor venue.

This year marked a major milestone for the band who celebrated their 20th anniversary with the release of God Bless The Band, a greatest hits collection spanning all seven studio albums and featuring two brand-new tracks, The Luckiest Man Alive and Plus One Forever. The album reached Number Two in the UK Albums Chart.
The landmark year has also seen Courteeners play a sold-out homecoming show at Manchester's Wythenshawe Park in August while also embarking on a nationwide headline arena tour.
Joining Courteeners in Lincoln will be psych-pop pioneers The Coral, bringing their kaleidoscopic energy and genre-blending sound to the historic venue. Their smash hit Dreaming of You remains a firm fan favourite, and with the release of their 13th studio album 388, the band continue to explore new musical territory while staying true to their roots. Fans can expect a set packed with cult classics, psychedelic flair, and the kind of infectious hooks that have made The Coral one of the UK’s most consistently inventive live acts.
Also on the bill will be The Guest List, one of the most exciting emerging names in British indie rock. Formed in Manchester in 2021, the band have quickly built a loyal following with their infectious guitar riffs, driving rhythms and sharp, thoughtful songwriting. Drawing inspiration from indie-rock favourites such as Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks and The Strokes, their distinctive sound pairs catchy melodies with a raw, energetic edge. With a reputation for bringing an electric atmosphere wherever they play, The Guest List are firmly establishing themselves as a band to watch.

The headline concerts are presented as part of an ongoing partnership with Lincolnshire County Council and Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor to bring world-class artists to perform in this outstanding historic location.
Cuffe and Taylor promoter Mark Harrison said: “Courteeners have built a fantastic following over the years, and there’s something special about the way their fans get behind them at every show. With two decades of great songs behind them, an incredible live reputation, and The Coral and The Guest List joining the bill, this is going to be a brilliant night.”
Kimberley Vickers, Lincoln Castle manager, added: "Courteeners, What Took You So Long? With their electric performances and massive singalongs, The Courteeners are one of the UK’s most loved live bands, and we can’t wait to see them light up our spectacular castle for the first time.
