Quality marks are an online self-review tool which provides schools with recognised awards for the quality of their PE and school sport. Headteacher Katie Gravil said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the Gold Games Mark and the Silver Quality Mark from the Youth Sport Trust, which recognises our commitment to delivering the best possible sporting experiences for the young people at our school.”

Kirkby la Thorpe works in partnership with Carre’s Grammar School Outreach programme to give pupils the chance to take part in sports.

In the last year, pupils have played goalball, boccia (a precision ball sport), kurling, rowing and gymnastics.

Ali Oliver, chief executive at the Youth Sport Trust said: “Congratulations to Kirkby la Thorpe for achieving the Youth Sport Trust Quality Mark.”
