Pip won the steaks after taking part in a competition run by The Lincolnite on Facebook. He was chosen at random after correctly commenting that Lee Jackson holds the superbike lap record for Cadwell Park.

On receiving his delivery and meeting the motor racing star, who also gave him a signed poster, Pip said:

“I’m gobsmacked. I can’t really believe that I won this. It was just a spur of the moment thing when I entered and I still can’t believe it. Especially in getting Lee to deliver it as well, it’s brilliant. I followed him in the Superstock 1000 last year and I think I was actually at Cadwell when he set the lap record that particular day so yeah, it’s been brilliant.”

Massingberd-Mundy Lincoln Red Beef is reared on the 3,000 acre South Ormsby Estate in the Lincolnshire Wolds, with select cuts of their delicious beef now available online.

Pip’s steak box includes ten thick-cut steaks including four 8oz sirloin steaks as well as two 8oz fillet steaks and rump steaks and two 10oz rib-eye steaks.

Pip said he’s looking forward to sharing it with his family:

“I shall share some out with the family over Christmas, we’ll have some and I’ll put some of it in the freezer and keep it for the summertime. I like barbequing steak - it always tastes better when it’s barbequed.”

“It was really nice to meet Pip and to deliver him a big box of delicious, juicy steaks from Massingberd-Mundy Lincoln Red Beef. He’s clearly a big fan of superbikes and it was great to sit down and chat with him. As a Lincoln lad, I’m really enjoying meeting fans in the county and supporting a Lincolnshire brand and Lincolnshire farmers with our new sponsors, Massingberd-Mundy. We’ve got a great team for the upcoming season and I’m looking forward to building on our championship winning success.”

The Massingberd-Mundy Lincoln Red Beef herd is one of the world’s largest herds of rare ‘original population’ Lincoln Red cattle, which date back to the 18th century and which can be traced back to the Viking invaders.

While the cattle have come very close to extinction in recent years, Massingberd-Mundy is using sustainable farming to help the traditional breed to recover in numbers so it can continue to be appreciated by future generations.

Other products are being created for 2020 as part of the Massingberd-Mundy brand, with each one being made using ingredients grown or produced on the South Ormsby Estate in coordination with local farmers, craftspeople and partners.
