Nettleham 1

Sleaford Town Boys 4

Sleaford Town Boys produced a wonderful display of football to cruise past Nettleham and continue their impressive development as the younger team in the Lincs U18 League.

The Green Army went straight on the attack from kick-off and took the lead after only three minutes from a stunning long range shot off the left foot of Brett Callow.

Fine link-up play through centre forward Jordan Berry and rapid support from all angles created further chances for Sleaford Boys before Callow doubled the lead and his own goals tally with an exquisite lob, following Jack Charles-Myers’ pass out from defence.

Sleaford Boys started the second half how they began the first, with a goal three minutes from the restart. A killer through-ball from captain Jamie Jenkins invited Callow to burst through the defence and finish calmly past the keeper for a well deserved hat trick.

Michael Flemming and Lewis Russell went close to increasing Sleaford’s goal tally, following some further enterprising approach play.

Nettleham reduced the deficit on 68minutes, Jack Rember capitalising on a moment’s confusion in the visitors’ defence.

Sleaford Boys responded immediately and Callow became the headline maker, grabbing his and Sleaford’s fourth goal with a sublime finish from along the goal line to crown a good all round team performance.
