A week on from their league encounter, Sleaford Town were seeking revenge against Sleaford Town Boys as the two under-18s representatives faced each other again, this time in the Lincs FA County Cup.

Sleaford Boys almost scored from the kick-off when a good run and cross shot from Brett Callow flashed across the face of the goal.

Moments later, however, Tom Hingley prodded the ball into the net following a goal line scramble to give Sleaford Town the lead after only three minutes.

Sleaford Town raised their game, attempting to capitalise on their early advantage and were awarded a penalty which Aidan Meagher duly dispatched past stand-in keeper Jordan Berry to make it 2-0.

A speculative long range free kick from Jack Charles-Myers found its way into the top corner of the net to make it 2-1 and provide Sleaford Boys a lifeline back into the game after 28 minutes.

And Lewis Russell almost drew the Boys level when his angled shot crashed against corner of the goal frame just before half time.

A tactical reshuffle saw Sleaford Boys gain more of the possession from the start of the second half but their older counterparts stood firm and soaked up the pressure.

Sleaford Town put the game to bed and effectively advanced into the next round when a quick counter-attack drew another penalty which Jake Scott buried into the net to give his team a 3-1 victory.
