Lincoln nurse returns to care home roots to take the helm at Lincoln Manor
An experienced Lincoln nurse who began her career as a Care Assistant is taking on a new challenge after being appointed Home Manager at Lincoln Manor.

Sarah Haines, who has spent more than a decade working in nursing and specialist frailty services, will take up her new role at the Lincoln care home on Monday 26 October.
Having lived in Lincoln for almost her entire life, Sarah brings extensive local healthcare experience and an existing connection to Lincoln Manor, having supported the home through her previous role in primary care since it opened in January 2025.
Sarah began her healthcare career while still at secondary school, delivering newspapers and snacks to patients on hospital wards. She subsequently worked as a Care Assistant in care homes, supporting people living with frailty and learning disabilities, before qualifying as a Registered Nurse in January 2013.
Her nursing career has included roles at Lincoln County Hospital, where she helped develop a specialist frailty service, Peterborough City Hospital and the Marie Curie Rapid Response Service.
For the past four years, Sarah has worked as Frailty Nurse Lead within Lincoln Healthcare Partnership Primary Care Network, supporting residents, families and teams across ten care homes.
Now, she is looking forward to focusing her experience and attention on one home.
Sarah said: “I started my career in care homes, and I've always wanted to return to that environment. Having worked across ten different homes in my current role, I'm really looking forward to focusing on one home, getting to know everyone properly and making sure residents receive the care that's right for them.
“I've known Lincoln Manor since it first opened in January 2025, and I've always thought it was a lovely home with a wonderful atmosphere. I've already built relationships with residents and relatives through my previous work, so that certainly influenced my decision to take on the role.
“My first priority will be spending time with residents, their families and the team, getting to know everyone on a personal level and making sure they know my door is always open.”
Sarah's extensive experience in frailty care will also inform her approach to supporting residents, with a particular emphasis on individual wellbeing and quality of life.
She added: “For me, it's about looking at the whole person, not just their medical needs. Good care is about helping people enjoy the best possible quality of life, listening to what matters to them and supporting them to make their own choices.
“I've always believed that a care home should feel like a home. I want Lincoln Manor to be somewhere residents feel safe, respected and valued, but also somewhere their families feel welcome and involved.
“I'm particularly looking forward to supporting the team, developing our community connections and finding more opportunities to bring residents and families together. I can't wait to get started!”
Sarah, whose family also lives in Lincoln, says the city will always be home. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and looking after her mischievous two-year-old black Labrador.
