The Grey Horses is a traditional village pub situated on ‘The Cross’ in the old part of Carlton-in-Lindrick.

Since the 1800s it has been at the heart of community life, serving the small population of Carlton-in-Lindrick and the surrounding villages (although the ancient district of Lindrick can be traced back to late Saxon times).

Acquired by Chris and Sally Redzia in 2010, The Grey Horses Inn is now a Freehouse with an exclusive range of traditional cask ales and a popular ‘gastro destination’ with locals, walkers and tourists alike.

There’s always a warm friendly atmosphere to be found in both the Lounge or in the traditional Tap Room. Families of all ages and well behaved dogs, are more than welcome.

The Grey Horses is one of only a select number of pubs in the UK to have its very own cask beer permanently available at the bar.

Developed and brewed in partnership with Welbeck Abbey Brewery, Carlton Knight is extremely popular with regulars and visitors alike.

Facilities at the Grey Horses include a specially preserved Tap Room, comfortable lounge and a large beer garden which is perfect for that summer evening drink after work.

The pub hosts a range of activities throughout the year – many organised by members of the local community – including a popular quiz and bingo night every Monday evening.

That community feeling will be continued with a beer festival from 4th to 6th July from 12noon onwards each day, in support of the Bluebell Wood children’s hospice and the Salvation Army.

The pub is renowned for its range of quality cask ales and is very proud to be the Brewery Tap for the Welbeck Abbey Brewery, the local craft brewery and one that’s fast rising up the ranks of esteemed English breweries.

There are always one of Welbeck’s award-winning beers available, plus Carlton Knight and a fine range of lagers, ciders and wines from an extensive wine list.

The Grey Horses also has a well-deserved reputation for quality home-cooked food.

Meals are prepared fresh everyday, using a variety of ingredients many of which are sourced locally, combining flavours of the season to accommodate new dishes with our year round favourites.

These include our range of traditional pub classics such as homemade pies, beer-battered cod and sausage and mash.

Meanwhile, starters include a delicious prawn and salmon platter and the chef’s homemade pate and breaded mushrooms.

There is also a wide choice of meats from the grill and the ever popular traditional Sunday lunch roast.

Whatever the occasion, the Grey Horses always provides the perfect excuse to get together with family and friends and enjoy quality time together in good company in a relaxed, comfortable environment.

Opening times are 12noon to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 11pm on Sundays.
