During December and January, almost £1,200 was raised from a raffle for a gourmet hamper supplied by Beaumont’s Delicatessen, in Bridge Street, which also sold tickets for the event. The delighted winner was Richard Jones.

The funds raised went to the Salvation Army, Women’s Refuge, the Neighbourhood Kitchen and the Community Larder.

All four organisations received £300 each, either by cheque or in vouchers.
