A17 closed after man airlifted to hospital following serious collision at Heckington Fen

It took place on the B1395 Side Bar Lane, Heckington Fen near to the junction with the A17 at around 4.30pm.

A motorcycle was in collision with a car. The male motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and has been flown to Queens Medical Centre by Air Ambulance.

The B1395 is closed between the A17 and South Kyme whilst police investigate the cause of the collision. It will not be possible to access the road from the A17 for some time.

There are long delays for motorists in the area and part of the A17 has been closed.
