Two Boston Belles teams went head-to-head in the latest round of the Boston Winter Netball League.

The Belles Rubies and Belles Sapphires did not disappoint.

The first meeting saw the underdogs, Sapphire, clinch the win, bruising a few egos along the way.

And so as both teams took to up their positions in anticipation of the first centre pass it really was all to play for.

Rubies had the first centre pass and with their usual clinical passes scored the first goal.

It wasn't long before Sapphires found their feet, matching Rubies goal for goal.

But towards the last few minutes of the first quarter Rubies managed to push ahead with a tentative two-goal lead.

The second quarter saw the determined Rubies come out to dominate play and increase the lead by eight goals.

The third quarter was filled with drama as players collided on court – mainly due to the passion and emotions running high.

Luckily all players involved were able to continue play.

There were fewer mistakes from Sapphires, with some impressive passes to get the ball into the circle, but they weren't able to score.

The final quarter saw Rubies score an impressive 12 goals to take the win 36-13.
